Challenge Message Board – Posting, Replying & Staying Connected

Overview

Every challenge has its own Message Board—a running chat where participants share updates, encourage teammates and celebrate milestones. It appears near the bottom of the challenge page and is turned on by default, though administrators may switch it off or require moderator approval for each post.

Instructions

StepWhat to do
1Scroll to the Message Board section (usually below the leaderboard or tracker widgets).
2Click inside the My Messages box. Type your note—text, emojis and hyperlinks are all supported.
3Select Post. If your organization uses pre-moderation, you’ll see “Requires Approval” until a challenge manager approves it.
4Edit or delete: Hover over your own message → three-dot ⋮ menu → choose Edit or Delete (available until the moderator locks the thread).
5Comment or like: Click Reply under someone’s post to add a threaded comment, or tap the ? icon to send a quick like.
6Unread indicator: A gold ★ appears beside posts you haven’t opened yet; it disappears once you view them.

Troubleshooting

QuestionAnswer
“Why can’t I see the Message Board at all?”Your site admin may have disabled it or hidden the new-message box.
“My post says Requires Approval. How long will that take?”Moderators receive an alert immediately. Once approved, your message becomes visible to everyone and the label disappears.
“I edited my post but others still see the old version.”Refresh the page; cached content sometimes lingers for a minute. Edits are live as soon as you click Save.
“The gold star never clears.”Open the message thread; the star drops off when the system registers it as “read.” If it persists after reading, clear browser cache or log out/in.
“How many posts show at once?”Admins choose a display limit (e.g., 5 or 10 messages). Older posts roll off the page but remain in the archive.
